As the coronavirus COVID-19 has evolved into a pandemic, African Peace Foundation is monitoring the situation daily. Compassion for the vulnerable is giving life to people and that is our utmost priority, so we have scale up efforts to slow the spread of this virus among the vulnerable people.
COVID-19 – is the worst pandemic that has hit the world in this generation due to the nature of the virus and the most vulnerable are those in poor communities. These families living in poverty will be hit hard by the Coronavirus pandemic. Because of a lack of information, access to good hygiene, health and Food,
As COVID-19 spreads, it poses a grave danger, especially in communities confronting hunger with weak health systems and scarce supplies.
In Nigeria, one in six people live in poverty, and millions are homeless. These populations severely lack access to proper care, hygiene, updated information, medical resources and Food, which makes them more susceptible to the virus. This is where we come in and These are our main target.
The effect of this Pandemic has hit the most vulnerable people hardest. We all know that when the economy is affected negatively in any part of the world, families in poverty are to suffer.
These people are facing the greatest food insecurity. When diseases spread, communities with weak health systems and have fewer attentions; hence, we record more mortality rate.
African Peace Foundation has been on the front lines preventing hunger and addressing its underlying causes, including lack of clean water, safe sanitation, and good hygiene practices like hand washing.
we’re doing everything we can to maintain our existing lifesaving programs – because hunger doesn’t stop when a pandemic hit. With your help, we can expand our hunger and health treatment and prevention programs to save more lives.
